Museum Station is located on premises of the former Warszawa Główna (Warsaw mail railway station), which served the function of the main station of the capital until the Central Railway Station was opened in 1975. It is situated in the centre od Warsaw, close to Zawisza Square and can be easily reached both by railway and the city's public communication.
In the exhibition halls there is a collection of over 6 000 exhibits that document the history of railway and the achievements of 19th and 20th century technology, including: engine and railway models, uniforms, banners, maps, awards, traffic control equipment, clocks, trains sets and simulator of the polish electric locomotive EU07. There's also a library with a rich collections od railway books.
The open-air museum is a collection of 50 of the most valuable steam engines, diesel engines, electrical engines and cars, gathered here since the 1970s. They include, among others, the only one armoured train in Europe, a sallon car Ashx 01, a SN52 motor car and lot of steam engines: Pm2, Pm3, Os24, Ol49, TKt48, Ty51, Pu29, Ty2, Ty42, Ty43, Tr203, OKl27, Tr6, Pt47, TKb3, OKa1.
