The Museum of Warsaw was established in 1936. It is located in 11 historic tenement houses at the Old Town Market Place, which is listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. A project called OdNowa, which includes the modernization, preservation and digitalization of the museum’s historical objects, as well as the development of a new main exhibition, began in 2014 and Museum of Warsaw was reopened in May 2017.
